男性不育的主要症狀是無法使女性懷孕，並且可能不會出現其他明顯症狀。但在某些情况下，一些潜在問題（如遺傳疾病、激素失衡、睾丸周圍靜脈擴張或精子輸送通道阻塞）會引起症狀。高達15%的夫婦無法生育，也就是說即使他們在一年或更長時間內頻繁地進行無避孕措施的性交也無法懷孕。在這些夫妻中，多達一半夫妻的不孕問題是由男性不育引起的。精子產量低、精子功能异常或精子輸送通道阻塞是導致男性不育的主要原因。疾病、受傷、慢性疾病、生活方式等因素也可能導致男性不育。
